If you want to check the event log after a system crash to find out exactly what caused the error, Windows may display the following error message:

Das Ereignisprotokoll oder die benutzerdefinierte Ansicht
kann nicht geöffnet werden. Überprüfen Sie, ob der
Ereignisprotokolldienst ausgeführt wird. Die Daten sind unzulässig (13)

We open the service administration and check whether the service has been started. Open in the DOS prompt:

services.msc

Or by clicking on Start and enter in the search box:

dienste

Now search for the Windows Event Log service. This should be started and set to automatic. If this is not the case, we change it accordingly.

If the above step is unsuccessful, the log data is probably corrupted. We must therefore delete the log data. ALL events will be lost!

In the event overview, we click on the right on the button Delete logs. All events are now logged again.
