vHosts

As some people already know, there are also so-called vHosts. When a user enters a channel, you can see what is meant by this:

Nick@hell-DA649D83.q.pppool.de

The one before the @ is called the ident and the one after is the host. Now you can customise the host. For example, it could say:

Nick@Hallowach.de

You can choose pretty much anything. There are only 3 restrictions:

  • It must contain a . dadrinne be included
  • A vhost may only contain the characters A-Z, a-z, 0-9, '.' and '-'
  • The host must not be an existing domain such as mirc.com

How do you get the vHost? It's quite simple:

  1. Create a vHost
  2. Let the IRCOP know

As a little extra, a service script with which you can right-click in the channel to access all service options in the channel:

http://www.hellhost.de/defcon1/cms/download/script/services.rar

This is how you load it into mIRC:

  1. download
  2. unpack with WinRAR into the mIRC folder
  3. enter “/load -rs services.mrc” in mirc
