Group nicks
If you are in the channel with your main nick, e.g. “MIRC” … please change to your second nick, e.g. “MIRC1” with
/nick MIRC1
Now you have to group the second nick to your main nick so that the server knows that the nick belongs to your main nick:
/msg nickserv group MIRC PW
Now the nick is grouped. Change back to your main nickname, e.g. “MIRC”, with
/nick MIRC
Set Perform correctly
In the “Options” ⇒ “Connect” ⇒ “Options” ⇒ “Perform”
At the top of this box it says “Enable perform on connect” ⇒ Tick the box !!!
Underneath you will see “Network” … to the right ADD and Delete Click on ADD and select the server you created under point 1.
Now enter the following in the box at the bottom under “Perform Commands”:
/nick MIRC1 ;Zweitnick /msg nickserv ghost MIRC PW ;Erstnick /nick MIRC ;Erstnick /msg nickserv identify PW /join #baccano
The #baccano is an example, you can add as many chans as you want to join on the network.
MIRC and MIRC1 are only examples for the first and second nicks.
This allows you to identify yourself and join the chan at the same time, which is particularly important in the case of forced separation.
Correct nick order
It is important that the nick order is correct.
You must now rename yourself to your second nick with /nick MIRC1.
In the “Options” ⇒ “Connect”
There you will find Nickname and Alternative. For nickname you have to enter MIRC1 (second nick). MIRC (main nick) must be entered under Alternative.
Now again in Chan with
/nick MIRC
to change back to your main nick.
Now check again in the “Options” ⇒ “Connect” whether the nickname and alternative are still correct.
