vHosts

As some people already know, there are also so-called vHosts. When a user enters a channel you can see what is meant by that:

Nick@hell-DA649D83.q.pppool.de

The part before the @ is called the ident and the part after it is the host. Now you can customise the host. For example, it could say:

Nick@Hallowach.de

You can choose pretty much anything. There are only 3 restrictions:

  • There must be a . dadrinne in it.
  • A vhost may only contain the characters A-Z, a-z, 0-9, '.' and '-'.
  • The host must not be existing domains like mirc.com

Now how do you get the vhost? Quite simple:

  1. come up with the vHost
  2. Inform the IRCOP

As a little extra, a service script with which you can right-click in the channel and have all options available in the channel:

http://www.hellhost.de/defcon1/cms/download/script/services.rar

This is how you load it into mIRC:

  1. download
  2. unpack it with WinRAR into the mIRC folder
  3. enter “/load -rs services.mrc” in mirc
